Anti-Aging and Sports
Quality of life is not measured by how old you are. Some people are active and independent at 90 and others are dependent on others at 50. It is not age, but how you maintain your health.
Sports and exercise are demanding on the body. The essence behind physical workouts is to properly challenge your body. That way the body develops a series of improvements to overcome the excessive demand placed on it.
If you enjoy sports and exercise in moderation, you are on the right path to wellness and can slow down the aging process. On the other hand, over exertion will cause injuries which may jeopardize physical movement or even permanently disrupt your preferred lifestyle.
Golden rules of exercise1. Do it in moderation. If you feel lethargic after exercise, it means that you haven’t exerted yourself enough. If you feel worn out and starving after your workout, you have exceeded your physical level. Feeling pepped up after exercise means that you are on the right track.
2. Do not get into rigorous training at an early age, say between 14-16 years, as it may stunt the growth process.
3. Too much exercise may cause obesity when you challenge your body too much. Instead of facilitating weight loss, your body will have a perception of being in an emergency state and will switch into survival mode. Your brain will stimulate you to increase your consumption and your body will automatically store more fat for future usage.
Helping keep your physical age below your real age is the key benefit.
